Coated carbide in toughness of carbide cutting tools coated with a layer or layers on the good wear resistance tin, ticn, tialn and al2o3 etc., coating thickness of 2 ~ 18μm, the coating typically has a ratio heat transfer coefficient matrix tool and the workpiece material much lower, weakening the thermal effect of the tool substrate; on the other hand can effectively improve the friction and adhesion of the cutting process, reduce the cutting heat generation.
Coating methods can be divided by generating physical vapor deposition (pvd) and chemical vapor deposition (cvd) 2 species. pvd coating (2 ~ 6μm) include tin, ticn, tialn etc., which components are continuing to increase, as tizrn. tin and maximum pressure tic coating are up to 3 580mpa and 3 775mpa, tialn coating due to the lack of reliable data and the lack of elasticity modulus accurate compressive stress, high-speed cutting tialn experimental results show that the best performance. Figure 1 is a case of three kinds of coating hardness changes with temperature, maximum hardness at room temperature, when the temperature exceeds at 750 ℃, tialn coating is harder than ticn and tin coating. Figure 2 is the processing of nickel-based superalloy inconel718 2 种 cutting. v1 = 193.5m / min and tool life under v2 = 380m / min conditions, experiments show ticn and tialn coated tin coating was superior cutting performance.
