Flat drill

The cutting part of the flat drill is ground into a flat body, and the main cutting edge is ground into a sharp angle, a back angle, and forms a transverse edge; Grind the secondary cutting edge to the back angle and secondary deflection angle, and control the drilling diameter. Flat drills have small front angles and no spiral grooves, making chip removal difficult. However, they are easy to manufacture and have low costs. They are widely used in the machining of small holes with a diameter of less than 1mm. Due to significant structural improvements and the aforementioned advantages, flat drills are also used when machining holes with a diameter of 35mm or more on automatic lines and CNC machines.
